Behavioral Expectations
We expect all staff to behave in a way that allows all members, parents, and children to feel comfortable at the YMCA. All staff agree to a code of conduct, which includes:
- Never being alone with children unless approved
- No outside contact with children, including over social media, text, video games, babysitting, or tutoring.
- Using appropriate physical contact (like high fives and side hugs) and avoiding inappropriate physical contact (like sexual touching or full frontal hugs)
- Using appropriate language (like family-friendly jokes and encouragement) and avoiding inappropriate verbal language (like conversations that are sexual in nature or crude jokes)
- Giving gifts to individuals without prior approval from leadership
If a member, program participant, or parent/guardian would like access to the full behavioral expectations for staff, please contact info@tricountyymca.com. Additionally, if you see a staff member breaking these behavioral expectations, please notify a supervisor right away or report anonymously by visiting: https://www.tricountyymcany.com/anonymous-reporting-system.
