Our History: Serving Communities, Growing Together
The YMCA has a long-standing tradition of strengthening communities through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Founded in 1881 as the Hornell Area Family YMCA, our organization has grown significantly over the years to meet the evolving needs of our region.
In 2021, the Y expanded its reach by establishing a presence in Dansville, NY. Continuing this momentum, in 2024 we proudly adopted a new association name — the Tri-County YMCA of NY — to reflect our broader service area and commitment to the communities of Steuben, Livingston, and Allegany counties.
That same year, we began operations in Bath, NY, where we partnered with the local school district to bring YMCA programs directly to families and youth in the area.Today, the Tri-County YMCA remains dedicated to building a stronger, healthier future for all.
